Houston, TX

I took a week long trip to Houston, TX a couple of weeks ago to see my friend Connie.  Connie has lots of wild cats living near her.  One little one black and white kitty found his way into her heart.
Meet Buster!
Since Buster is so young, one year + a couple of months, Connie made me promise to take him if something happens to her.
So Buster will be our kitty.

Remember he is a wild cat.  In order to pet him I had to sit on the floor and stay quiet, then he would come over by me and I could pet him. If I would walk through the house or move too fast he would be gone.

Connie and I took a trip to the Coushatta Resort.  We saw a show that featured look/sing alikes.
Our entertainers were Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson.
This Michael was not thin.  He still was very nice.  I call this the angry Michael, because of most of the songs he sang.

This is the young Elvis and he had a great voice.  He did dance well, but his voice was so much like the real Elvis.  It was hard to believe when he opened his mouth to sing.  He was a cutie, too.

Jackson's T-Ball Game

Jackson plays t-ball.  On Friday July 9th Jim and I practiced with Jackson. At dinner I asked him to explain the game.  What he told me was a little confusing.  Then on Saturday when I watched the game, it made total sense what he said.

Jackson running home.

Jackson waiting to bat.

Jim and Travis watching the game.

Sara and Travis hanging out in the shade, trying to keep Sara as comfortable as possible.

Mckinley keeping cool and playing a game on Travis' phone.

Visiting the Kuhl's July 9th and 10th

We took a trip to O'lathe to see the Kuhl's.  The kids needed new shoes for school and that is my job.
Jim and Travis did some work that didn't turn out like planned, so now another trip is needed to finish that.
Mckinley always seems to like pink the best.  She got shoes and socks.

Jackson seems to choose something with blue.  He is true boy!

Travis and Jim working on the railing.

Travis and the kids looking at what we thought was the finished product.  Little did we know the other rails were a different height.  This one is now waiting to be re-done.
When we go up next, Jim will help take it apart and put it back together at the correct height.
All will be good.

Maerz -Wason 10th Annual 4th of July Celebration

Every year Jim and I have a standing invite to the Maerz-Wason 4th of July party.  It is held at the Wason farm.  We eat, visit and at dark watch fireworks.  It is really a lot of fun.

We can eat in the barn or outside.  The guys can even cook under the lean to on the left if it is raining.

Jim, Mike and Carol enjoying a drink and conversation after dinner.

I found Rachael and her friends behind the barn playing a drinking game.
Thank goodness there was dinner still to come and fireworks before they left.  They all got to pick to drink they like best.
Gives a new meaning to BYOB.

This is Mike and  Myrna.

These are the fireworks.  It looks like a professional show.

We enjoy this event every year.

Lanie's First Shoes

July 11 Allison and Lanie met me at Chesterfield to buy her first pair of shoes.  This was our first shopping trip together.  There will be many more to come.

This was the only pair of size 4 they had in the shoes Lanie liked.

O'Fallon Parade

Don't fall over...Jim and I walked with the K&N Patriots in the O'Fallon 4th of July Parade on Sat. July 3rd.  Here are some pictures.

This is Nancy, Ed, Jim and I.  Nancy is recovering from cancer treatment, so Ed pushed her in a wheelchair.  You wouldn't believe the number of people who were clapping for us.  We handed out K&N pamphlets and pocket Constitutions.

Betsy Ross and Thomas Paine joined us in our walk.

This is our banner we use at Hwys. K&N every Saturday.
Even though we were at the parade, about 25 people were still at the protested at K&N.

The Fife and Drum Corpes played the whole way.  Notice their feet.  They were great.

Rattlesnake

Jim and Ed went for a boat ride on the Missouri River.  On the way home, they noticed a large snake in the road.  It was a diamond back rattler.  It was over 4.5 feet long and had 11 rattles.

Good Pics

I snapped a couple of good pictures on my trip to the Ozarks.
This is Beth and John during the party.

This is Beth and her childhood & current friend, Mary.
She came for a couple days also for Logan's birthday.

Logan had his coat on and his camofl. shorts, so I tied a headband on him to take this picture.
Can you believe he is only 4?

This is Seth and his cousin/friend Matthew.  Seth is now 5'4" and weighs about 145lbs.
Look how thick his neck is - football?

This is Helen and her sister Harriett.  Harriett came to hang out with Helen for her birthday.
They are looking at albums from high school.  Can you tell they grew up in St. Louis?

Happy Birthday Helen and Logan

June 28th is Helen's birthday and June 29th is Logan's birthday!
We went to get ice cream after dinner on Monday 6/28.
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm good!
Logan was restless, so I had him jumping off the bench many times.
He finally asked, "Can we go home now?"
He wore himself out.
This is Harrison.  He has 5 teeth now and army crawls. He is a happy boy!
Logan had Star Wars cake. You can see the dark and light on the icing.
He loved it.
This is one of his gifts.  The older kids took turns playing with it, too.
